Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released Advertisement No. 11/2026 for direct recruitment to various posts in Central Government departments and organisations.

The recruitment includes Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor, Assistant Editor, Specialist Grade II, Assistant Public Prosecutor and Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer posts.

Educational Qualification

Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor – Anatomy

Candidates must possess the prescribed Post-Graduate degree in Anatomy or equivalent recognized qualification along with at least three years of required teaching experience after obtaining the first Post-Graduate degree.

Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor – General Medicine

Candidates must possess a recognized MBBS qualification along with a Post-Graduate degree in General Medicine/Medicine or equivalent qualification. Required teaching experience must also be fulfilled.

Assistant Editor

Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or Mass Communication from a recognized University/Institute; OR a Bachelor's Degree with Economics, Statistics or English as a subject along with a diploma in Journalism or Mass Communication of at least one year.

Candidates should also possess three years of experience in editing and publishing work.

Specialist Grade II – Anaesthesiology

Recognized medical qualification along with the prescribed Post-Graduate Degree or Diploma in Anaesthesiology and required experience in the concerned specialty.

Specialist Grade II – Pediatrics

Recognized medical qualification along with the prescribed Post-Graduate Degree or Diploma in Pediatrics and required experience in the concerned specialty.

Assistant Public Prosecutor

Degree in Law from a recognized University or Institute along with three years' experience at the Bar.

Public Law Officer / District Litigation Officer / Law Officer

Bachelor's Degree in Law, either professional or integrated, from a recognized University in India along with two years of actual practice at the Bar as prescribed in the notification.

Age Limit

The age limit varies according to the post and category.

  • Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Anatomy): Up to 40 Years for UR/EWS
  • Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (General Medicine): Up to 40 Years for UR/EWS
  • Assistant Editor: Up to 30 Years for UR
  • Specialist Grade II – Anaesthesiology: Up to 50 Years for ST
  • Specialist Grade II – Pediatrics: Up to 45 Years for EWS
  • Assistant Public Prosecutor: Up to 35 Years for UR/EWS
  • Public Law Officer / District Litigation Officer / Law Officer: Up to 40 Years for ST

Age Relaxation

Selection Process

Candidates may be shortlisted based on their qualifications and experience. UPSC may also conduct a Recruitment Test depending upon the number of applications and the requirements of the recruitment.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview. The interview carries 100 marks.

  • UR Candidates – Minimum 50 Marks
  • OBC Candidates – Minimum 45 Marks
  • SC/ST/PwBD Candidates – Minimum 40 Marks

Where a Recruitment Test is conducted, candidates may have to qualify both in the Recruitment Test and Interview as per UPSC rules.
