ARCI Recruitment 2026 – Overview
The International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), an autonomous R&D centre under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has invited online applications for Scientific, Technical, Administrative and Support Staff posts. Recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. ARCI/HRD/RECT/1/2026.

Eligibility and Educational Qualifications
- Scientist B (R&D): Bachelor's degree in specified Materials/Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering disciplines.
- Officer B (Finance & Accounts): Bachelor's degree and the prescribed government service, finance and accounts experience. Recruitment is on a deputation basis.
- Technical Assistant A: B.Sc. in Physical Sciences with Chemistry, or a three-year full-time diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Candidates with specified higher qualifications are not eligible for this entry-level post.
- Assistant A: Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience in administration, establishment, HR, finance, purchase, inventory or related work.
- Technician A: 10th/SSC, two-year full-time ITI in Fitter, Turner or Electrician, and three years of prescribed technical experience. Higher qualifications specified in the notification may make a candidate ineligible.
- Driver A: 10th/SSC, valid light and heavy vehicle driving licences, knowledge of vehicle mechanisms and the prescribed light- and heavy-vehicle driving experience.

- Scientist B: Maximum 30 years
- Officer B: Maximum 56 years
- Technical Assistant A: Maximum 30 years
- Assistant A: Maximum 28 years

Category-wise age relaxation is subject to the provisions of the official notification.
Application Fee
- Scientist B and Officer B: ₹600 for General/OBC; ₹400 for SC/EWS/PwD/Women/Ex-Servicemen.
- Technical Assistant A, Assistant A, Technician A and Driver A: ₹500 for General/OBC; ₹300 for SC/EWS/PwD/Women/Ex-Servicemen.
- Reserved-category candidates applying against unreserved posts must pay the full fee.
The prescribed fee is non-refundable. Follow the official instructions for payment through UPI or NEFT/RTGS.
Selection Process
Depending on the post, the selection process includes application screening/shortlisting followed by a Computer Based Competitive Written Examination, personal interview, trade test, skill test or driving test, as applicable. Officer B recruitment is on a deputation basis and involves an interview.
